ACQUIRES RARE COIN
Windsor Antiques, #16 has acquired a very rare silver decadrachm (43,22 gm, 10:00) circa 405-400 B.C. Sicily, Syracuse, ANS American Coin Museum. The silver decadrachm is the largest denomination ever minted in ancient coinage and is in extremely fine condition.
Located in gallery #16 on the street level, Windsor continues a third generation tradition with proprietor, Morris Khouli. The gallery specializes in Etruscan, Roman, Egyptian and Near Eastern antiquities and ancient coins.
Some items at Windsor date back as far as 1000 B.C. Particularly noteworthy are the Apulian vessels created in a Greek colony in Southern Italy circa 320B.C. and a Tiberius silver Denar, a biblical coin mentioned in The Bible.
