PROVIDES DETAILED REPLICATION OF ANTIQUE RUGS

Restoration by Costikyan™, a premier company in the care, restoration and cleaning of fine rugs and tapestries since it’s founding in 1886, is providing an exciting new service to customers. Partnering with manufacturer, Richard Rothstein, Costikyan will offer detailed replication of antique rugs made to order in Azerbaijan, the country of origin for the most valuable Oriental rugs in the world.

These rugs are woven by master weavers, all of whom are adult women taught the art of weaving from their mothers and grandmothers. Weaving has been the tradition in Azerbaijan for generations. Rugs are manufactured as they were several centuries ago using time-honored methods and materials; and in almost every instance, the same locations.

All Oriental rugs are 100% hand knotted from pure hand-spun Azerbaijani wool that is hand dyed with all natural vegetable dyes. The dyes are set utilizing natural sea salt from the shores of the Caspian Sea.

Restoration by Costikyan™ enhances their capability by offering the replication of any antique rug. The same authentic traditional techniques will be employed in the production of the new carpet, as they were centuries ago in creating the originals.
