EXTENDING SMITH & WATSONS RADIAL TABLE
IS AS EASY AS PIE
Smith & Watson, masters of fine English and continental antique reproduction furniture since 1907, highlight The Radial Table; an elegant handcrafted table with an ingenious extension mechanism that is so easy to operate even a child is capable of doing it.
Designed and patented by Robert Jupe in 1835, the extension mechanism allows the 60 diameter Radial Table to expand to 84 with a simple counterclockwise turn of the top. Eight pie-shaped sections radiate out from the center, allowing for the insertion of the dart-shaped leaves. Instead of only seating six, the table can now accommodate as many as twelve.
Featured is The Sheraton Radial Table, crafted of highly figured mahogany with rosewood cross banding and boxwood inlay on the top and legs. The extension mechanism is stainless steel. Table legs are fitted with brass bun feet.
The Radial Table is available in a variety of traditional designs including Sheraton, George III, Hepplewhite, Regency, Empire, Queen Anne, Chippendale, Biedermeier and Georgian styles. Wood choices are Mahogany, Cherry, Rosewood, or Oak. Custom options include a larger version that opens from a 72 diameter to 102.
A four page brochure is available upon request.
