FINE FIBERS FROM WINDOW MODES
CREATE A LUXURIOUS NEW LOOK
Window Modes, Ltd., the design industrys premier source for innovative window treatments, introduces Windowsheer, a luxurious new collection utilizing abaca, raffia, bamboo, buntal and piña.
Featured in the photo is Buntal which is utilized for the base material. Buntal is a very fine white bamboo-like fiber. Its thin cylindrical filament is taken from the leaf-stalk of the African Raffia or Buri palm. Woven Buntal creates a two directional fabric with an aesthetic, refined appearance. It can be incorporated with other fibers such as knotted raffia for limitless design and textual variations.
The natural Buntal fibers are extracted manually by pulling the individual fibers from the buri stalk. The distinctive fibers can be harvested from either the stalk or the leaf- but not both. The highest quality buntal can be almost four feet in length.
Available in natural colors, Buntal is a beautiful new alternative for shades and sliding panels.
Window Modes, Ltd. is headquartered in the D&D Building, 979 Third Avenue, New York City
and is represented in major showrooms in design centers across the country.
